About the Author-
  • TONY DITERLIZZI is a New York Times bestselling author who was awarded a Caldecott Honor for his cinematic version of Howitt's classic The Spider and the Fly. His art has graced the work of J. R. R. Tolkien, Anne McCaffrey, and Greg Bear. He and his wife reside with their pug in Amherst, Massachusetts.
HOLLY BLACK was born in a decrepit Victorian house much like the one the Grace kids move into. Her mother gave her books on ghosts and fairies and Holly spent a happy childhood cooking up imaginary witches brew with her younger sister. Black is an avid collector of rare folklore volumes, spooky dolls, and crazy hats. She resides in Long Branch, New Jersey.

Reviews-
  • AudioFile Magazine Containing both LUCINDA'S SECRET and THE IRONWOOD TREE, this latest audio installment relates the Mallory children's further adventures with faerie folk. They learn that their aunt is in a home because her addiction to faerie food drives her nearly mad and also conclude that Arthur Spiderwick may still be alive. When the twins' older sister is been captured by dwarves, they try to rescue her and learn as well about the evil Mulgarath. Mark Hamill may seem an unlikely choice for vocalizing young characters, but he manages a solid performance. His real talent is in his characterizations of fantastic creatures, whom he makes both scary and entertaining. J.M.S. (c) AudioFile 2004, Portland, Maine
